Obituary for Tarcella Clara Hendershot (Miller)
I, Tarcella Clara Miller Hendershot, 81, Fleming, Ohio, met my Savior at 10:30 on the morning of April 17, 2017, after a long struggle with ALS.
I was born on February 9, 1936 in Sharon, Ohio, to the late Elmer and Sophia Estadt Miller. I graduated from Dexter High School, Dexter City, Ohio and Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Zanesville, Ohio. I retired from Marietta Memorial Hospital as Nursing Supervisor and was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, Marietta, Ohio. I was active in the Girl Scouts of America.
I am survived by my husband, George Hendershot, of Fleming, and four daughters, Madonna Deann Gibbs (Krist) of Dublin, Ohio, Theresa Hendershot of Fleming, Elizabeth Zwick (Robert) of Lower Salem, Ohio and Suzanne Hendershot of Belpre, Ohio, three grandchildren, Joshua, Lauren and Ethan Zwick, two step grandchildren, Zachary and Sierra Gibbs, one sister, Bernadette Collins of Crooksville, Ohio, three brothers, Andrew (Judy) of Waterford, Ohio, Daniel (Bonnie) of Delaware, Ohio and Larry (Sherry) of Marietta, and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with The Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell celebrating. Burial will follow in the New St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Vigil service held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
