She was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, and was formerly an active member of the Marietta Welfare League and the Chi Honor Chapter of the Ohio Child Conservation League. Days spent at the O’Neill Adult Day Center were much brighter days for Betty June. When the time came that she could no longer go to the O’Neill, she still enjoyed an occasional ride through her home town with one stop for an ice cream cone. Her favorite place in the world outside of Marietta was any beach in Florida or South Carolina.
