Abraham Roger Ullman

Abraham Roger "Abe" Ullman, 66, of Bartlett died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at The Plains, Ohio. He was born February 12, 1944 in Marietta to Athmer "Dutch" and Mary Myrtle Smithberger Ullman. He was a 1962 graduate of Warren High School, graduating as salutatorian of his class. Abe was a laborer and farmer for 42 years. He had worked through Laborers Union Local 639, where he was president and field representative at one time. He farmed, gardened, and was big on Civil War history, having visited all the battle grounds. He also enjoyed football. Abe was a member of the North Athens Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He is survived by his wife, Ronda Marie Parks Ullman, they were married on July 21, 2007; one daughter, Sherri Ullman Kaltenbach (Chris) of Bartlett; three grandchildren, Mary, Robert and Skylar Kaltenbach; a brother, Stanley Ullman, of Bartlett; two half brothers, William Lauer (Jackie) of Bartlett and Donald Lauer of Arizona and three half sisters, Myrtle Radcliff of Wichita Falls, TX, Wanda Pallish and Florence Lattimer of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, four half brothers, Arthur, Chester, Frank and Jack Ullman, and former wife, Catherine "Catty" Barnhart. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Wesley Township VFD, P.O. Box 92, Bartlett, OH 45713.
