Albert John "Butch" Reiter, Jr., 59, of Marietta, passed away early Friday morning (June 3, 2016) at his home. He was born October 24, 1956 in Buffalo, NY to Albert John and Virginia Leggart Reiter. Throughout his 27 year career in power generation, he began as an operator at Indeck, Tonawanda, NY, and worked his way to plant manager at Duke Energy in Beverly, OH. He had currently been serving as one of the directors of the Muskingum Valley Area Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed blues music, golf, and riding motorcycles but above all spending time with friends and family. Butch is survived by his mother, Virginia Reiter of Elma, NY; his wife, Cheryl Marshall Reiter, whom he married on August 11, 1984; two sons, Nicholas Reiter (fiance, Bethany Rhodes) and Adam Reiter (Alice), a granddaughter, Annabell Reiter, all of Marietta; sister, Patricia Coon (Douglas) of Elma, NY; brother in law, Thomas Marshall (Colleen) of Clayton, NC; two nieces, Cherie and Shelley, and two nephews, Scott and Ryan. He was preceded in death by his father Albert Reiter Sr. Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Putnam Cemetery.
