Another World War II veteran has died...Albert Adam Theis, Jr., 86, of Marietta, died Monday, March 21, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born October 19, 1924 in Marietta to Albert Adam and Anna Schultheis Theis, Sr. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Albert had retired from River Gas Company in 1986. He was a member of VFW Post #5108 and American Legion, Post #64. Albert is survived by a daughter, Becky Mallett (Doug) of Marietta; a son, Butch Theis (Alice) of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Eric Mallett (Sarah) of Marietta, Jana Miller (Ryan) of Fishers, IN, Matt Mallett (Emmy Moore) of Marietta and Trisha and Jeremy Theis of Roanoke, VA; six great grandchildren, Zachery and Kelsey Mallett, Lucas and Grace Miller, Riley Mabe and Jacob Theis; step grandchildren, Jessica Hooker (David) of Puyallup, WA and Travis and Brandon Carroll of Roanoke, VA, step great grandchildren, Nathan Cuellar, Whitney and Allyson Hooker and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Twila Gossett Theis on December 13, 2002, they had been married on September 7, 1946. Also preceded by a brother, Earl and two sisters, Bessie Semon and Ruth Giffin. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Dr. Gerald Morgan officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and anytime on Thursday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park, with full military honors.
