Alberta June Butler

Alberta June Butler, 96, of Marietta, died Monday, January 18, 2016, at her home. She was born June 5, 1919 in Guernsey County, Ohio to Frank and Hazel Mulligan Deeren. She was a graduate of Buffalo High School. Alberta had worked in catalog sales at JCPenney in Cambridge for twenty years. She was a long time member of Valley Chapter Grange in Cambridge. Alberta is survived by her daughter, Beverly Wentz (Charles) of Marietta, grandchildren, Charles Eric Wentz (Tracy) of Avon, Charla Erika Hearn (Travis) of Loveland and Chan Eron Wentz (Sara) of Columbus, great grandchildren, Addison and Ansen Hearn, Brooklyn and Chase Wentz, and Maisie Grace Wentz, and nieces and nephews, Linda Potts of Pleasant City, Dorothy Oakey of Chandlersville and Floyd and Lloyd Alloway of Cambridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edmond Butler, in 1984, also by a sister, Louise Johnson Schina. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Greene officiating. Friends may call for two hours prior to her service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Tunnel Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Barlow-Vincent Church of Christ Building Fund, 6429 St. Rt. 339, Vincent, OH 45784.
