Alecia Florence Strahler Fouss, 61, of Waterford, Ohio, passed away on November 30 at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on February 3, 1963, to the late Joanne and Bernard Strahler. Alecia was raised on a farm on Strahler Road, growing up in a large family as the sixth of ten children. Her rural upbringing instilled in her resilience, a strong work ethic, and a knack for creating a welcoming and beautiful home. Alecia’s sense of humor and ornery nature brought joy to all who knew her, leaving behind cherished memories filled with laughter.
Alecia graduated from Waterford High School in 1981. She attended Valley Beauty School and worked as a beautician at Charles’ Hairdressers in Marietta for many years. Alecia was a homemaker and mother and, in later years, was self-employed.
Alecia is lovingly remembered by her three sons, Tyler Fouss (Jordyne), of Vienna, WV; Logan Fouss, of Glendale, Calif.; and Nicholas Fouss, of Marietta; and her devoted partner, Brad Schott, of Waterford, Ohio. She is also survived by nine siblings: Debbie Rutter; Patti Miller (Terry); Brian Strahler (Christy Combs); Cris Strahler; Val Strahler; Lindsey Strahler (Tracy); Dawn McCutcheon (Kevin); Shelly Sury (Rob); and Jeremy Strahler (Megan); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Alecia faced pancreatic cancer with remarkable courage and strength. She drew resilience not only from within but also from the unwavering support of her loving family throughout her journey. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kelly Cawley for her kindness, support, and care shown to Alecia during her illness, as well as the staff at Belpre and Marietta Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Patient Emergency Fund, at Memorial Health System, in honor of Alecia’s life and the care she received.
