Alyce Mae Welsch, 79, of Lowell, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2018. She was born on November 22, 1939 in Waterford, Ohio to George and Carmen Berry Spung. Alyce was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother.
Alyce married the love of her life, Dean Welsch on June 8, 1957. They were married for over 60 years. Alyce was a member of St. John's Evangelical Church in Lowell and enjoyed volunteering at the nursing home in Beverly, Ohio. She loved making crafts, gardening, painting and spending time with her family. Alyce was full of life, energy and never lacked something to say. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
She is survived by her three children, Dave Welsch (Cassie) of Belpre, Ohio, Paul Welsch (Teresa) of Davisville, WV and Mary Callihan (Myron) of Marietta, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Ashley Dilisio (Gary), Jeff Welsch (Brielle), Matt Anderson (Cherokee), Heather Welsch, Brandon Callihan (Jackie), and Zachary and Andrew Welsch; eight great grandchildren, Owen, Ethan, Brooklyn, Ryleigh, Syriana, Bodhi, Lilly and Brettley; four siblings, Walter Spung of Watertown, Ohio, Margaret Dyar of Churchtown, Ohio, Shelby Kelley (Jim) of Waterford and Jack Spung (Diane) of Watertown; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 23, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Minister Melody Hoskinson officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
