Ann Morris, 79, of Marietta, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on November 26, 2013 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, to be reunited with the love of her life.
She was born August 13, 1934 in Plymouth, England, the daughter of the late John and Lilian Davies.
In August 1953, her love story began, as she met Earl H. Morris, Jr. of Marietta, while he was stationed in England. On December 12, 1953 they married at St. Catherine's Church in Plymouth, before relocating to Marietta. After 45 years of marriage, Earl preceded her in death in 1999.
Ann was a devoted Christian who loved to read her Bible, and was dedicated to her family - she lived her life as a true example for those who were fortunate enough to know her. She had an infectious smile that would light up any room. She enjoyed cooking, baking and Sunday dinners with her family. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for more. She leaves all her children and grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved and they know that she loved the Lord.
Ann is survived by her four children - sons Steve and Keith Morris (Bev), daughters Linda Stevens (Bill) and Brenda Sparks (Jeff), all of Marietta; sisters Pat Baldachino and Betty Davis, of Plymouth, England; grandchildren Kelly Patten (Chad Walters), Todd Morris (Carrie), Kyle Morris (Shay Curtis), Brooke Enochs (Ryan), Megan Morris, Jared Stevens (Natalie), Tyler Stevens and Heath Stevens, all of Marietta; six great grandchildren, Sebastian, Carleigh, Sophia, Daryan, Trey and Nadia, and many special friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Raomi (Sissy) Morris in 2011.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am Saturday, November 30, 2013, at the Souls Harbor Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at St. Jacob's Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2-8pm Friday at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, and at the church for one hour prior to services on Saturday.
The family wishes to express their greatest thanks and appreciation to Ann's caregivers. They would also like to express their gratitude to the staff, nurses and doctors at Marietta Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during her final days.
Her family suggests that memorial contributions in Ann's memory may be directed to the Souls Harbor Baptist Church Building Fund, 115 Caywood Road, Marietta, OH 45750, or to the Evergreen Bible Church, 113 Ellsworth Avenue, Marietta, OH 45750.
