Annette Marie Zide, 43, of Williamstown, WV, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, following a brave and courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 2, 1971 in Cincinnati, a daughter of Alvin Eugene and Betty Jean Carson Cook. Annette had received her BA from the Ohio State University and Masters from the University of Cincinnati. She had worked at Public Debt in Parkersburg and prior to that at Marietta Municipal Court. Annette was a devoted wife and mother. Surviving are her parents of Cincinnati, her husband, John, three daughters, Alexis, Sydney and Izabel, sister, Jennifer Nestle (Sean), brothers, Dave Cook (Kelly) and Anthony Cook (Anne) and grandfather, Norman Walters, all of Cincinnati; mother in law, Anita Zide, sister in law, Lori Williamson (Jeff), brother in law, Rodney Zide (Janeann), all of Williamstown; aunt, Catherine Carson, and cousin, Aimee Meadows (Will), of Marietta. She was preceded in death by grandparents, George Carson, Mary Lou Carson Walters, father in law, Robert Zide and sister in law, Victoria Zide. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Marietta on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Linda Steelman will officiate. Visitation will be at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home beginning on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and continuing on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will also be visitation at the church for one hour prior to her service on Thursday. Burial will be in the New St. Mary's Cemetery in Marietta. Donations may be made to the Strecker Cancer Center, 401 Matthew St., Marietta, OH 45750.
