Antoinette Marie Walsh

Toni was born on December 12, 1941, to Anthony and Estelle Wegler, in Buffalo, New York. On March 3rd, 1962, she married her sweetheart, John J. Walsh, and they made their initial home in North Tonawanda, New York. In 1967, Toni & John relocated with their three sons to Marietta, Ohio, where their daughter was born and they have lived ever since.
Toni was a mother and homemaker for 54 years. A devout Catholic, she has also been a member of Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption for almost 50 years. During all those years, Toni has served as a member of the Catholic Women's Club as well as many other charitable church-based organizations and projects. Toni, a highly skilled crochetist and needle-pointer, was known for making a beautiful afghan for any newborn she knew about at her church. Another example of Toni using her gifts to enrich other lives was her crocheting of 100 hats for impoverished children of Swaziland (Church of the Nazarene project).
A world-class Mother, Toni's life's work was raising her four children. She was a fervent supporter of the music, arts and sports programs her children were involved in throughout their formative years. In the mid-1980's she put her considerable culinary skills to work by preparing the pre-game dinners for the MHS Tigers Varsity Football Team. This is just one example of countless ways Toni Walsh loved and supported her children and the children of others throughout her and their lives.
Toni doted on her six granddaughters and two grandsons-in-law, continuing her dedication to the children of her family to a second generation. Until she was physically unable, Toni got to every sports event, concert and art exhibit her grandchildren were involved that she could.
Toni is survived by her husband of 54 years, John J. Walsh; and her sons, John A. (Darlene) Walsh, Patrick A. (Debbie) Walsh, Michael J. (Lisa) Walsh; and daughter, Jennifer M. Walsh. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, Courtney (Dan) Nicholson, Emily (Caleb) Drennon, Kyrie Walsh, Alexis Walsh, Caroline Walsh, and Mallory Walsh.
