Ardella Ruth Gifford, 76, of Janet Road, Marietta, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born September 30, 1933 in Perry County, Ohio to Cyril and Sarah Jane Taylor Deavers. She was a graduate of New Lexington High School. Ardella was a member of the Central Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, Howard S. Gifford, they were married April 13, 1952; her three children, Susan Rose (Bill) of Marietta, Randy Gifford (Ania) of Chicago, IL and Betsy Gifford of Lima; seven grandchildren, Santina Rose Plottner (David), Tia and Keri Rose, Sylvia, Randy, Alyssa and Nicholas Gifford; a great grandson, Mason Howard Plottner; two sisters, Evelyn Furney of Buckeye Lake, Rosie Orr of Washington Courthouse, a brother, Kenny Deavers (Wanda) of New Lexington and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Kevin Gifford, and a grandson, Billy Rose. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. The Rev. Sanford Downs will be officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Her burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
