Arlene Lucille Ball, 84, of Vincent, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, at her daughter's home in Belpre, surrounded by family. She was born May 31, 1930 in Coal Run, Ohio to Ralph and Dorothy Metz Hanlon. She was a 1948 graduate of Lowell High School. Arlene was a member of the Layman United Methodist Church and was involved with the Ladies Aid, as well as being a volunteer at the Western Washington County Food Pantry. She enjoyed writing in her journal, shopping, reading, painting, and traveling, including wintering in Florida. Most of all she enjoyed her family and raising her children and grandchildren. Arlene is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Graham of Lake Placid, FL, Sharon Dilliner (Ray) of Belpre and Deana Tompkins (Steve) of Vincent; her son, Ron Ball (Kathy) of Vincent; Belinda Grayson (Jack) of Cutler, whom they considered a daughter, six grandchildren, Kerri Shartle, Belinda Whitehair, Bonnie Ward, Sarah Davis, Laura Wilson and Travis Ball; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; a brother, James Hanlon (Kay) of Oswego, NY ; a sister, Ruth Gossett of Orlando, FL, several nieces and nephews and her best friend and partner in crime, Bette Jo Yearwood, of Vincent. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Otis Dean Ball, two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Dr. Lloyd Dennis officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. up until time of her service. Burial will be in Barlow Central Cemetery. Donations to Layman UMC or Western Washington County Food Pantry.
