Barbara Anne Rankin
December 14, 1929 — February 13, 2020
Barbara was a 1947 graduate of Marietta High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for close to 70 years. Barbara was also a lifetime member of the Marietta Welfare League. Through the years, she loved to golf, play tennis and enjoyed boating with Doc aboard the Paw-ty.
She is survived by two children, Kimberly A. Reinhold (James) of Cincinnati, Ohio and William C. Rankin, III (Barbara) of Marietta; grandchildren, Matthew Reinhold (Courtney) of San Francisco, California, Ellen M. Reinhold (Fianc, Jack Riley) of Chicago, Illinois, and Carly A. Rankin of Cleveland, Ohio; siblings, Ralph Householder (Sara) of Lexington, Virginia, Ron Householder (Sharon) of Ft. Meade, Florida, Susan Moore (James) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Linda Vaughn (Dennis) of Summerville, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William C. Rankin, Jr., whom she married on August 13, 1950; and brother, Rodger Householder.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta, with Pastor David Smith officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church. Private entombment will take place in East Lawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home.
