Bernadean Murphy, 99, of Marietta, Ohio, died on Monday, April 20, 2020, at Selby General Hospital. She was born on March 10, 1921, in Cornerville, Ohio to Thomas and Ella Matheny Dearth.
Bernadean was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary the Assumption, American Legion Auxiliary and past member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter in law, Janet McBride; two step children, John Murphy Jr. (Isabel) and Sister Nancy Murphy, DC; four grandchildren, Sherry Leach (Jamie), Bobby Thomas, Misty McBride and Stephen McBride; and two step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Donald and Gale; first husband Donald McBride in 1978; second husband, John Murphy in 2015; brother, Arthur Dearth; four sisters, Genevieve Bogard, Catherine Carpenter, Edith Wendelkin, and Jean Pritchet; and two grandchildren, Michael and Terri McBride.
Abiding with government recommendations for social distancing during the COVID-19 Pandemic, private burial will be in Valley Cemetery. There will be no visitation or greeting of friends and extended family at this time. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.
