Bernard Howard Dyar

Bernard H. Dyar, 77, of Churchtown, Ohio, passed June 10, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 12, 1940 to Howard and Edna Christy Dyar.
Bernard was member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Lowell American Legion. He was devoted to the Beverly Knights of Columbus #4617. Bernard was instrumental in the founding of the K of C Hall in Churchtown. He held many offices throughout his years and held positions in the state program for 47 years.
Bernard worked for Marietta Ignition in his early years and then spent 35 years at B. F. Goodrich. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. Bernard's loves in his life were his Catholic faith, family, friends and his canine friends, Sophie, Chelsey, Dudley and the late Zoe. He loved all sports, especially the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns, the Duke Blue Devils, and Notre Dame. He loved all sports that his grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in, and he loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Spung Dyar of 53 years; children, Brian, Thomas (Karen Schwendeman), Susan, Michael and Kimberly Day (Dan); grandchildren, Nathan, Stacia, Marcie, Elizabeth Moore (Josh), Preston, Morgan (Caitlin), Mikaela, Paige, Gracyn, Adrienne, Kacyn, Matthew, Alex and Josie; great grandchildren, Kaedyn, Avery, Cohen, Annistyn, Colestyn and Elijah; and siblings, Norma Thieman (James), Gerald (Virginia), Ronald (Wanda), Ann Lang (Edward), Marilyn Schaad, Ralph (Libby), Janet Welch (Terry) and Diane Dyar (Jimmy).
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018, with The Rev. Timothy Davison celebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Churchtown, with the Rosary being recited at 3:00 p.m.
