Bert Dwight Anderson, 81, of Vincent, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8, 1936 in Rockport, WV to Bert Edward and Roberta Kerr Anderson.
Bert was a 1956 graduate of Vincent High School and retired from DuPont after 34 years of employment. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and the Pioneer Antique Auto Club and was one of the founding members of Belpre Civitan Park. He enjoyed antique cars, working outdoors, tending wells, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Telma Anderson, whom he married on June 10, 1956; son, Tim Anderson (Carol) of Vincent; son-in-law, Daniel Righter of Vincent; five grandchildren, Brent Anderson, Tiffany Anderson, Kristen First (Matthew), Kayla Righter (Matt Adams), and Kacey Smith (Brent); great-granddaughter, Maggie May Smith; siblings, Elizabeth Wile of Belpre and Andrew Anderson (Drema) of Cutler; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter, Theresa Righter; and two siblings, Connie Spino and Henry Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Chuck Kiser and Rob Vernon officiating. Burial will follow in Barlow Central Cemetery. Visitation is on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
