Betty June Denton, 81, of Marietta, Ohio, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, in Marietta. She was born on August 13, 1932, in Marietta. Betty was a graduate of Marietta High School, and worked as a clerk for the manufacturing and engineering departments of Remington Rand/Kardex, retiring in 1993. She spent her life following all the activities and sports of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Steve Denton (Martha) of Marietta and Eric Denton (Susan) of Monks Corner, SC; seven grandchildren, Wendy Ketelsen (Brian), Jennifer Jupp (Larry), Stacy Miller (Bill), Erin Meeks (Todd), Cole, Samuel and Joseph Denton; ten great grandchildren, Abigail and Emily Ketelsen, Kellan, Cameron, and Marlee Jupp, Nicole, Mya and Bo Miller, and Brayden and Owen Meeks; and a son-in-law, Harry Karcher, Jr. (Sharon) of Marietta. Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Farley Congleton, daughter, Debra Karcher and brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Carolyn Covey. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Wendy Erb officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday. Burial will follow in Gravel Bank Cemetery.
