Betty V. Erb, 83, of Williamstown, WV, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at The Arbors. She was born November 1, 1927 in Bethel Township, Monroe County, Ohio to the late Kenneth Dale and Nora Opal Smith Lucas. She graduated from Alliance, Ohio City Schools in 1945. She married Claude A. Erb on October 12, 1946 in Marietta. Betty is survived by two sons, Ronald Alan Erb and Steven Douglas Erb, both of Williamstown, two daughters, Linda Darlene Bayles and her husband, Denny, of Waverly, WV and Lisa Diane Stalnaker and her husband, Steve, of Daytona Beach, FL, a brother, James Lucas and his wife, Mary, of Louisville, OH, two sisters, Donna Cerreta and her husband, Tony, of Suwanee, GA and Sue Latham of Yorba Linda, CA, three grandsons, Thomas P. Erb and his wife, Jennifer, of Columbus, OH, Michael B. Erb of Williamstown, and Gregory J. Bayles and fianc, Betty Hayes, of Waverly, four great grandsons, Ethen Lang Hayes, Joshua Dale Erb and Connor Alan Erb of Williamstown and Brady Thomas Erb of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004, an infant son, Jeffrey Brent Erb in 1958, a sister, Peggy Kaye Toney of Las Vegas, NV in 2009, and special daughter in law, Patricia A. McKenna Erb in 2008. Betty was a resident of Williamstown since 1950 and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Williamstown. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. According to her wishes, there will be no visitation and arrangements for a private family service are pending at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church, 304 W. Fifth St., Williamstown, WV 26187 in memory of Claude and Betty Erb.
