Clifford Jack Henniger, 84, of Lowell, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Heartland of Marietta. He was born June 25, 1929 in Terre Haute, IN to Clifford and Letha Heddleson Henniger. He had lived in Lowell for most of his life and graduated from Lowell High School in 1948. Jack served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952 and had been self employed as a carpenter for 42 years. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Church. He was a life member of American Legion Post #750 in Lowell and had served as commander 1977-1978 and 1992-1993, VFW Post #5108 and DAV, both in Marietta. Also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, #3665 in Beverly, 40 & 8 in Beverly and the Carpenters Union #356. Jack had served on Lowell Village Council and Zoning Board and for a short time served as mayor. He enjoyed boating, bowling, playing cards, ballgames, and being with his family. Jack is survived by two sons, Dennis J. (Juanita) and Gary A., both of Lowell, daughter, Kelly Stottlemyer (Jeff) of Bothell, WA, seven grandchildren, Chris Henniger (Angie), Devon Henniger (Nick Effler), Eric Henniger (Jessica), Jamey Brown, Nicole Henniger, Derek and Kurt Stottlemyer, eight great grandchildren, Dominick and Jantzen Brown, Braden, Payton, Caelum, Carmen and Kaden Henniger, and William Effler, and a special friend, Geraldine Beach of Lowell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona C. Strahler Henniger on September 20, 2007, they had been married on August 7, 1954, and his brother, Billy Gene Henniger. Funeral services will be held at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Don Hart officiating. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday. Abiding with Jack's wishes, he was cremated. His ashes will be buried, with full military rites, in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell, following the services. Donations may be made to the L-A Fire and Rescue, P.O.
