Carl John Lang, Jr., 76, of Waterford, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at his home. He was born June 13, 1935 in Lowell to Carl John and Ruth Thieman Lang, Sr. He had farmed and worked for 50 years through Labor Union #639, retiring from Marietta Metals Products. He had also made leather belts in his retirement. Carl is survived by his wife, Bessie Forshey Lang, daughter, Lisa Thompson (Charles) of Waterford, son, Michael Alan Lang (Rosemary) of Big Pine Key, FL, several grandchildren, two brothers, Cecil Lang (Elma) of Vienna, WV and Ronald Lang (Monica) of Marietta, sister, Marian Thrasher (Larry) of Marietta and brother in law, John Newlon of Lowell. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susie Newlon. The family will greet friends at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Carl's wishes were to be cremated and to not have a structured funeral service.
