Carolyn Archer Armor, 89, of Marietta, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born December 27, 1924 in Marietta to Walter H. and Genevieve Reid Archer, Sr. She was a 1942 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School. Carolyn was a lifetime member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. She was also a lifetime member of the Marietta Welfare League and the American Legion Auxiliary. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Richard, they had been married on October 20, 1942, also by a son, Richard T. Armor, Jr. (Carol) of Marietta, four grandchildren, Pete Armor (Kathy), Angie Greathouse (Rick), Tony Armor and Bryan Armor (Valerie), five great grandchildren, Nathaniel Greathouse, Brent Armor, Natalie Greathouse, Zackery Armor and Jessica Crosby, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Garry Ann and Ann Veon, and three brothers, Walter H., Jr., James R. and John W. Archer. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2014, at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant. Visitation will be at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in New St. Mary's Cemetery. Donations may be made to the church restoration fund, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to a charity of choice.
