Carolyn Sue Saffell

August 11, 1942 — November 2, 2018

Carolyn Sue Saffell, 76, of Marietta, Ohio, died Friday, November 2, 2018 at her son's home in Waterford, Ohio. She was born on August 11, 1942 in Amesville, Ohio to Albert and Lorraine Binegar Henke.
Carolyn was a graduate of Fort Frye High School. She worked for the Arbors in Marietta for over 25 years as a nurse's aide. Carolyn was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. She loved gardening, flowers, spending time with her grandchildren and taking pictures.
She is survived by her sons, Greg Saffell (Loretta) of Waterford, and Brad Saffell (Traci) of Lowell; grandchildren, Brett, Alissa and Jeremiah Saffell; sisters, Mary Brooker, Betty Ezell (Jack), Helen Miller, Frances Wright (Gary), Patricia Henke and Joanne Hill (Bill); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Allen Saffell, on February 19, 2011.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Basilica, with The Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell celebrating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a Vigil service held at 3 p.m.
