Charles Theodore “Ted” Klima, Jr., 56, of Marietta, Ohio, died on Monday, September 30, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on April 12, 1968 in New Martinsville, WV to Charles Theodore and Sharon Ann May Klima, Sr.
Ted graduated from Marietta High School in 1986 and received his Associates Degree in CADD Operation from Washington State Community College. He served his country in the US Air Force, from 1987 to 1991, and was stationed overseas during the Iraqi War. He was proud to achieve the rank of Sergeant. Ted was a Sr. Mechanical Designer/Project Manager for Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) and supported the Minor Project Process at Washington Works Site for more than 25 years. He was extremely detailed in his work and highly respected in his field. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved deer hunting and fishing, and called the woods his happy place.
He is survived by his mother; sister, Krysti Burger (Matt); four nephews, Jacob Theodore (fiancé, Ellie Talavera), Peyton, Davis and Clay; and many close friends, especially Scot Wentz, Mike Miller and Charlie Mayer.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME, with Chaplain Cara Clegg officiating. Burial will be East Lawn Memorial Park, with full military honors. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to services on Thursday.
