Charles Robert Schilling

Charles Robert "Lovey" Schilling, 62, Lowell, died Monday morning, August 13, 2012, at The Ohio State University Hospital, in Columbus. Born January 4, 1950, in Marietta, he was a son of the late John and Marie Lang Schilling. A 1967 graduate of Fort Frye High School, he had retired as a bricklayer from J. A. Schwendeman & Sons. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Lowell. He was an avid gardener. He was married June 2, 1974, to Sandy Anthony, who survives, with three daughters, Mechelle Adams (Joe), of Buford, GA, Kristin Offenberger (Tony), of Lowell and Stacy Leeper (Frank), of Pickerington; two sons, Donald Merrow (Kellie), of Lower Salem and John Schilling (Rachel), of Katy, TX; ten grandchildren, Josh Merrow (Alicia), Jeffrey Merrow, Kylynn Adams, Joe Mills, Katie and Abagail Offenberger, Bobby Leeper, Alexandria Leeper, Aubrey and Barrett Schilling; two great grandchildren, Macey and Myah Merrow; one brother, Edward Schilling, of Lowell; and six sisters, Louann Camden, of Germantown, Marie Scyphers, Joyce Chaney and Betty Hopper (Hugh), all of Marietta, Rose Mary Yost, of Alexandria, VA and Judith Balas, of Anchorage, Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and David Schilling. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be 10:00 am Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, with the Rev. Timothy Shannon as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, where there will be a Vigil Service at 8:00 PM Wednesday.
