Charlotte Nelson Furbee

Charlotte Nelson Furbee, 99, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at Glenwood Community, where she had been an independent resident for six years.

She was born in Vienna, WV, later her family moved to Marietta, Ohio, where she graduated from high school. After marrying her WWII sweetheart, Fritz Furbee, they both finished their college degrees at Ohio University. They then moved to Columbus, Ohio, to start a business and raise their family for many years before she returned to Marietta. Charlotte owned and ran The Cottage on Washington Street for 15 years. She was involved in many organizations wherever she lived and believed strongly in volunteerism. She will be remembered for her smile and her grace.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann (Don) Robison of Upper Arlington, Ohio, and Rebecca Ann of Los Angeles; her sister, Fran Barry of Marietta; and many loved nieces and nephews and their families.
