Cheryl Elaine Mercer, 53, of Vincent, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family, following her battle with cancer. Cheryl was born on March 31, 1966 to James and Mildred Pritchett in Marietta, Ohio.
She was a 1984 graduate of Marietta High School. Cheryl was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Cheryl enjoyed traveling to the beach, relaxing with the sand between her toes, and going on walks on the beach with loved ones. She most importantly loved spending time with her family and friends. Her smile was contagious and was a joy to be around.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Mercer, whom she married on June 4, 1988; father-in-law, Bill Mercer; daughters, Courtney Sulfridge and her husband Lane Sulfridge, Katlyn Brockmeier and her husband Chandler Brockmeier; granddaughter, Mackenzie Sulfridge; sister, Karla Leach and her husband Dave Leach; brother, Kevin Pritchett and his wife Debbie Pritchett; sister-in-law, Grace Pritchett; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James & Mildred Pritchett and brother, Denny Pritchett.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with Pastor David Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Barlow Central Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
