Clara Rose Morrison
Clara Rose Morrison, 89, of Dale St., Marietta, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, at her daughter's home in Beavercreek, Ohio. She was born March 31, 1920 in Noble County to William and Cecelia Crum Archer. Clara and her husband had owned and operated Morrison, Inc., beginning in 1955. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the CWC. She had been a volunteer at WASCO for many years. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards with her friends, bowling, and time spent with her family. Clara is survived by two daughters, Karen Neighbor (Terry) of Beavercreek and Brenda Christy (Ted) of Cincinnati; three sons, Dean Morrison (Norma) of Lakeville, MN, Ken Morrison (Theresa) of Marietta and Terry Morrison (Lina) of Seattle, WA; a son-in-law, Ken Broffman; fifteen grandchildren, Ronald Morrison, Jeannie Shilz, Monita Westbrook, Bradley Morrison, Carol Orlando, Mike Neighbor, Kendel, Allison and Chase Hughes, Christy Fogel, Jon and Jeff Broffman, Katie, Annie and Hannah Christy; nineteen great grandchildren; a sister, Irene Hupp (Albert) of Summerfield and two brothers, James Archer of Caldwell and Andrew Archer (Dorla) of Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley R. Morrison in 1989; a son, Ronald Morrison, a daughter, Barbara Broffman, three brothers, Howard, Bernard and Paul Archer and a sister, Lucy Dick. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant. Visitation will be at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park.
