Dallas Oneal "Peaches" Carithers, 86, of Marietta, died Friday, February 7, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born December 19, 1927 in Danielsville, Georgia to Dallas and Nettie Burgess Carithers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a heavy equipment operator with the Operating Engineers. Dallas was a member of American Legion, Post #64, Marietta Shrine Club, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his longtime companion and care giver, Dolores Yonis, of Marietta. Visitation will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Monday, February 10, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School Foundation or the Wood County Christian School.
