Daniel Lee Semon, Sr., of Waterford, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, in Marietta. He was born on November 12, 1944, in Marietta, to Carl William and Grace L. Nichols Semon. He attended Waterford Elementary School and graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1962. Dan was a charter member of Demolay in Marietta in 1963, the F & AM Lodges #37, Mt. Moriah in Beverly, #436 Masonic Lodge of Lowell and a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #33. He was a 4-H Advisor for many years and was a long time member of the Lowell Christian Church, where he had served on the board for many years. Dan was a past member of Muskingum Valley Twirlers Square Dance Club and Charlie's Angels Round Dance Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR. He is survived my his loving wife, Sandra Kay Tuller Semon, whom he married on October 20, 1962; his four children, Daniel L. Semon, Jr. (Pamela) of Waterford, Angela L. Thieman (Dana) of Trenton, OH, Yvette R. Semon of Kirtland, OH, and Sarah K. Haines (Thad) of Waterford; his eight grandchildren, Jay and Seth Thieman, Kayla, Hayley and Joselynn Semon, and Clay, Wyatt and Livy Haines; his sister, Patricia Christopher (Norman) of Waterford; his brother, Bill Semon, Jr. (Sharon) of Malta; his sister-in-law, Margaret Semon of Waterford; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin-brother, David L. Semon; and his father and mother-in-law, Jay W. and Mabel G. Tuller. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at The Lowell Christian Church, with Rob Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow in Waterford Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
