Daniel L. Strahler

Daniel Louis Strahler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Friday, May 17th, 2024 at OSU Ross Heart Hospital. Born on May 29th, 1957 in Marietta, Ohio, Dan was the son of the late Dale G. Strahler and Ruth E. Schaad Strahler.

Dan was a loving husband to Debbie Buckley Strahler, whom he married on August 9, 1986. He was a devoted father to his three children, Rachel Meek (Josh), Megan Lang (Jamie), and Andrew Strahler. Dan adored his six grandchildren, Jadelynne, Jaymison, Braylon, Brooklynne, Kyrie, and Oliver, as well as his great grandson, Creed.

He is survived by his siblings, Tom Strahler, Linda See (Keith), Karen Davis (Frank), Dave Strahler (Linda), Dean Strahler (Brenda), and Sharon Warden, brother in law Larry Handshumacher, sisters in law Clarissa Strahler and Vickie StClair, and proud uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and Joe Strahler, and sister, Janie Handshumacher.

Dan graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1975 and went on to a successful career as a boiler operator at Kraton/Shell Chemical, where he worked for 38 years before retiring in 2017. He was a farmer, and enjoyed raising cattle and goats, restoring cars, gardening, and cooking. Dan had a passion for history and loved spending time with his grandchildren, often giving them rides on farm equipment.

A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Lowell, Ohio on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024 at 10:00 am, with The Rev. David Gaydosik and Deacon Dave Faunce concelebrating. Visitation will be held at the LOWELL CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME on Monday, May 20th, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Vigil Service at 7:30 pm.
