David Robert Keller

November 4, 1951 — December 29, 2013

David is now soaring with the eagles after surviving many health concerns and succumbing to an aneurism on Sunday, December 29, 2013. He was born November 4, 1951 in Oak Hill, Ohio to Estel and Sarah Williams Keller. He was a 1969 graduate of Marietta High School and served in the Air Force as a Communications Specialist until 1973, when he came home from Guam and worked as an electrician. David had studied art at the Washington County Career Center. He was a man of nature, loved his garden, and was a craftsman of delicious desserts. David, being a loving partner, parent and good buddy, as well as a strict and steady teacher, will be deeply missed by wife, Christine, children, Josh, Tim (Jason), Russell (Venita and children, Savannah and Carson), Emily, little dog, Mira, sisters, Verda Rust, Gertrude Evans (Bud), Jane Runkle, and brothers, Kenneth (Laura) and Charles (Nancy). Their house was known for its warm hearth and homey atmosphere. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Earl and Rick. David was grateful for the comfort and attention of his church community, especially in the last chapter of his life. His memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta, 232 Third St., with the Rev. Kathryn Hawbaker presiding. There will be military rites honoring his military service. A reception will follow the services, at the church. To assist the family with expenses, please send donations to Cawley & Peoples, 408 Front St., Marietta, OH 45750.
