David Lee Mccarty

David Lee McCarty, 67, 3545 St. Rt. 530, Lowell, died 1:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009, at his home. Born October 29, 1941, at Lowell, he was the son of the late Leland Stanley and Mary Florence Barlow McCarty. David attended Fort Frye High School and was self employed, having owned and operated McCarty Trucking from 1963 until his retirement in 2007. He liked antique cars and enjoyed time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sue Burer McCarty, whom he married September 2, 1961, and by two sons, Terry McCarty, and his wife Tina of Warner, and Tim McCarty, and his girlfriend Tammy Roby of Veto; a daughter, Barbette McCarty of Lowell; four grandchildren, Josh Schulthies, Andrew and Christian McCarty, and Hannah Marie McCarty; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Ayden; one sister, Jean Brown of Marietta; brother-in-law, Larry Burer, and his wife Barbara of Warner; brother-in-law, Wilford Dimit of Marietta; sister-in-law, Carol Binegar of St. Marys, WV; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marty Dimit. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2009, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic in Lowell, with The Rev. Timothy Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the church.
