David James Nowery

June 3, 1931 — March 11, 2011

David James Nowery, 79, of Parkersburg, WV died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born June 3, 1931 in Follansbee, WV to Robert French and Marjorie Frew Nowery. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korea. David held a Masters Degree in Educational Administration, and had retired from teaching in the Wilmington, Ohio area. He had also been a college track coach at Wilmington College. He loved landscaping and working outdoors, as well as fishing and painting. David is survived by his wife, Mary Virginia Jett Nowery, they were married on May 26, 1958, also by two sons, David Nowery (Elaine) of Lebanon, OH, John Nowery (Elaine) of Westerville, OH, four grandchildren, Dan, Stuart, Brandon and Brianna Nowery, a brother Bob Nowery of Dunnellon, FL, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Silver. There will be private services held at a later date. Donations amy be made to the Humane Society or to National Parkinson Foundation. The Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples is assisting the family with his cremation arrangements.
