David John Sarver, 75, of Marietta, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born August 20, 1935 in Marietta to Harry and Viola Tullius Sarver. David was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He had worked as a draftsman for Marietta Structures and First Colony Corporation. David was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, American Legion, Post #64, was a 4th. Degree in the Knights of Columbus, and was a USS John W. Weeks member, which was the ship he served on. He was a huge Notre Dame fan, loved to golf and loved his Irish Terrier, Mike. David is survived by his wife, Carol Mahoney Sarver, they were married on May 10, 1958, also by two sons, Dan of Columbus and David "Rich" (Tina) of Aledo, TX, three grandchildren, David, Vanessa and Austin Sarver, a great grandson, Landon Tew and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ervin and Richmond, two sisters, Mary Alberta Wotring and Juanita Bowen, and a half sister, Shirley Sowers. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Burial will be at New St. Mary's Cemetery, with full military honors.
