Dick Goddard

Bert Dickson "Dick" Goddard, 87, of Marietta, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville. He was born March 1, 1923 in Layman, Ohio to Bert and Mauree Dickson Goddard. He was a 1941 graduate of Vincent High School. Dick was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He had retired from the state of Ohio. He was a 50 year member of the Musicians Union, the VFW and the American Legion, in Marietta. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Hoff Goddard, a son, Bert Goddard (Misty), of Marietta and two granddaughters, Kirsten Eileen and Eleana Kae Goddard. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Naomi Morgan. There will be a memorial service held for him at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, with Pastor Zane Kesselring officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
