Doris McGregor "Dot" Reed, 89, of Devola, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born September 8, 1919 in Fleming, the daughter of Andrew Noble and Lulu Lane McGregor. She was a 1937 graduate of Vincent High School. At the time of her marriage she had worked in the office of the Farm Bureau. Doris was a member of Gilman United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, James P. Reed, they were married in August of 1947; two sons, Phillip of Davie, FL and Ronald of Columbus; a granddaughter, Kristen Reed of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Miles (Janice) McGregor and Keith McGregor; three sisters, Emma Lou Welch, Virginia Combs and Helen Lynch, as well as many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Loren, Kenneth and Jim McGregor and three sisters, Margaret Parks Gregory, June Porter, and Mary Nichols Jamison. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday , June 12, 2009, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Barlow Central Cemetery. Donations may be made to Gilman UMC, 312 Gilman St., Marietta, OH 45750.
