Dwight Keith Masters

Dwight Keith Masters, age 79, of Williamstown, WV, passed away at home with his wife and beloved dogs and cats nearby on Friday, May 3rd, 2024. He was born on Thursday, March 29th, 1945 in Fairmont, WV. Dwight was a beloved husband, father, papaw, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife Jean Anderson Masters, whom he married on March 8, 1991, his children Karin Davidson, DJ Masters and Robert Masters, grandchildren Dyanna, Matthew, Trinity (Brandon), RaeAnn, Hunter, and Tanner, five great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Dwight is also survived by his brothers-in-law Bill Anderson and Bob Anderson (Sally), as well as special nieces and nephews Melissa and Stacey Leaman, and Joe and Jennifer Anderson and their children.

Dwight was preceded in death by his father Robert Looman Masters, mother Flora Pauline Haddix Masters, son Brant Masters, parents-in-law Everette and Imogene Anderson, sister Nancy Ellen Masters, infant brother Robert Stanley Masters, and sister-in-law Mary Ann Anderson.

He graduated from St. Mary's WV High School in 1963 and received his Associates Degree from Washington Technical College. Dwight worked as a millwright, carpenter, and machinist for various companies, considering himself a JOAT, a jack of all trades.

Dwight enjoyed gardening, taking care of his dogs and cats, motorcycle riding, building things, boating, fishing, and rescuing and homing animals.

Funeral services will be held at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024 at 2:00 pm, officiated by The Rev. Elizabeth Campbell-Maleke.  Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 7th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Wednesday, May 8th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

His family would like to thank special friends and caregivers, Tyler Hall, Sean Lakten, Aimee Creech and Amedisys Hospice and TLC in Home Care Services, for all their special care and love over the years.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkersburg Humane Society, the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, which he helped build, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
