Edward Dwayne Vannoy

Edward Dwayne Vannoy, 89, of Marietta, died Tuesday, June, 2, 2015 at Harmar Place. He was born November 2, 1925 in Belpre Ohio, one of six children, to Earl and Mary Barnes Vannoy. Ed married Fannie Mae "Judy" Munn on December 20, 1949. He served in the army during the latter part of WWII serving in the Philippines and also in Japan. Ed had worked for BF Goodrich for over 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a loving Husband and father and enjoyed most of all, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved his cars especially a red 1964 Ford. He always wanted a 1964 Mustang, but never had one, and he enjoyed NASCAR racing. Ed enjoyed his neighbors and friends and could be counted on if any needed help. He is survived by his three children, C. Kay Schaad of Lowell, Rosemary (Jim) Reed of Lowell and Eddie "Duke" (Emily) Vannoy of AZ, eight grandchildren Tiffany (Eric) Keffer of Lowell, Emily (Tim) Camp of Lowell, Joseph (Amanda) Schaad of Vallejo, Ca., Matthew (Michelle) Reed Marietta, Benjamin (Ann) Reed of Marietta, Nicholas Reed of Lowell, Austin (Nikki) Vannoy of Valdosta, GA, Elyse Vannoy of LasVegas, NV, ten great grandchildren, Donavan Reed, Zane Reed, Ella Keffer, Cameron and Brooklyn Camp, Anthony Schaad, Kenny Schaad and Myles Schaad, Grady Vannoy and Oliver Vannoy, sister, Madeline (Hubert) Coss of Marietta, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy, siblings Fred Vannoy, Don Vannoy, Geraldine Lones, Eveline Wheatley and son in law, Kenny Schaad. Funeral services will be at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 12 p.m. with Pastor Herb Alexander officiating, and full military honors will be observed. Family will greet friends for two hours prior to services on Saturday. Private entombment will take place in East Lawn Mausoleum. Ed loved dogs and in recent years especially Kuma, his daughters Lab, donations may be made to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, P.O. Box 5, Marietta, Ohio 45750.
