Elizabeth A. Simmons, 90, of Williamstown, WV, died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born September 1, 1918, in Friendly, WV, to John C. and Mary Woodburn Leonard. She was a graduate of Williamstown High School and Marietta Business College. Elizabeth had worked at the Williamstown National Bank and Marietta Savings and Loan. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Williamstown, Williamstown Eastern Star #58 and the Williamstown Senior Citizens. Her husband, James C. Simmons, preceded her in death on May 25, 1995, they had been married on September 15, 1984. Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Kenneth B. Calebaugh officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 a.m. up until time of her service.
