Eloise Lillian Delaney

July 19, 1923 — December 3, 2015

Eloise Delaney, 92, of Marietta, died Thursday, December 3, 2015, at The Woman's Home in Marietta, where she had been a resident for several years. She was born July 19, 1923 in Waterford to John Andrew and Philomena Strahler Schaad. She was a 1941 graduate of Stockport High School. Eloise had worked at JC Penney Company, retiring in 1952. She was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. Eloise is survived by two daughters, Marlene Delaney and Carol McKitrick (Brett), two sons, Robert D. Delaney, II (Cristy) and Russell Delaney (Teri), all of Marietta; 13 grandchildren , 7 great grandchildren, and a brother, Earl Schaad, of Waterford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Donald Delaney, who died in 1999. They were married on April 14, 1952. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Dorothy Fragmin, three sisters, Sister Joseph Aloysius Schaad, Mary Margaret Schlicher and Mildred Offenberger and two brothers, Donald and John Schaad. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Sunday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a memorial mass held at The Basilica on Monday, December 7, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., with The Rev. Thomas Nelson as celebrant. Burial of her ashes will be in New St. Mary's Cemetery. Donations may be made to The Woman's Home, 312 Third St., Marietta, Ohio 45750.
