Emmett Ray Ball

December 16, 1932 — November 5, 2019

Emmett Ray Ball, 86, of Lowell, Ohio, died on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 16, 1932 in Coal Run, Ohio, to Guy and Lottie Walters Ball.

Emmett was a Korean veteran, serving his country in the United States Navy. He was a self employed farmer all of his life. Emmett was a member of Coal Run Church of Christ, the Lowell American Legion and the DAV.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis Ball of St. Louis, MO and Leland Ball of Marietta; daughter in law, Verna Ball of Lowell; three grandchildren, Thomas, Hannah and Curtis; and five great grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Tyson, Markus and Maddie; and a special friend Dorothy Slack.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Lou Hanna Ball, who died on October 24, 2009; and siblings, Leland "Bud", Henry, Donald, Dean, Ernest, Rettie Farnsworth and Dorothy Frazier.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Rich Lemal officiating. Burial will follow in Waterford Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
