Eric O’Brien Keffer, 53, of Marietta, Ohio, died on Thursday, August 15, 2024 in Marietta. He was born on May 18, 1971 in Marietta, to Linda Coleman Lohr and Richard Keffer.
Eric graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1989 then served in the U.S. Air Force, from 1989 to 1993. He was a member of The Basilica, where he enjoyed being an usher, Knights of Columbus, Rotary and former board member of the Marietta Soccer League. Eric enjoyed supporting his daughter’s golfing career, which carried into sharing his passion for golf to the youth of the area. He enjoyed hanging out with his neighborhood friends and their competitive backyard volleyball games.
He is survived by his wife, Tiffany Schaad Keffer, whom he married on April 9, 1994; daughter, Ella Grace; mother, Linda Lohr (David); father, Richard Keffer (Carole); mother in law, Kay Schaad; siblings, Brenda Hendershot (Mike), Robert Williams and Dana Hillenbrand; sister in law, Emily Camp (Tim); several nieces and nephews; and cats, Jax and Winston.
He was preceded in death by father in law, Kenneth Schaad; brother in law, Joe Schaad; and nephew, Myles Schaad.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with The Rev. J. Michael Campbell celebrating. Burial with full military honors will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 3:00 p.m.
