Evelyn June Perry

Evelyn June Lent Perry, 86, of Whipple, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at The Arbors, at Marietta. She was born May 28, 1925 in Marietta to Henry H. and Frieda Lauer Beardmore Lent. She lived all of her life in the Whipple/Marietta areas. She was a 1943 graduate of Salem Liberty High School. She worked in the payroll department of the Marietta Chair Factory and at the Sylvania war plant until the end of World War II. On February 22, 1946, Evelyn married Howard S. Perry. After raising her family, she worked as a bookkeeper at Perry & Associates, Public Accountants, until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Highland Ridge Community Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #64, and VFW Auxiliary Unit #5108,and she had spent over 25 years as a member of the Devola VFD Auxiliary. Evelyn is survived by one son, Randall H. Perry and his wife, Patti, of Belpre, one daughter, Wanda J. Perry, of Marietta, three granddaughters, Misty Perry Durham (Michael) of Belpre, Amy Perry of Charleston, SC, and Tiffany Perry of Belpre, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Edgar Beardmore and his wife, Sally, and one sister, Dorothy Kern, and her husband, Ambrose. Funeral services will be held at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Friday, May 4, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Don Hart officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Ridge Cemetery. Donations may be made to Devola Volunteer Fire Company, 1286 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, OH 45750 or the Highland Ridge Community Church, 2200 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell, OH 45744.
