Everett Grant Russell

Everett Grant Russell, 96, of Cutler, Ohio, passed away on April 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 11, 1927 in Morgan County, Ohio to the late Everett Clyde and Forest Lewis Russell. Grant graduated from Ames Bern High School in Amesville, Ohio and was drafted into the US Army. While in the US Army, on October 16, 1946 he married the "joy of his life," Lena Jane Greathouse. He was stationed at Army Air Force Base Lowry Field in Colorado. Grant and Lena resided in Colorado until his discharge, when they moved to Marietta.

Grant was employed in the printing business for over 40 years, eventually owning his own printing company, Russell Graphics in Marietta, Ohio. He was a member of the Marietta Jaycees, Marietta Rotary Club, 65-year member of Northern Masonic Scottish Rite in Cambridge, Ohio, 32nd degree Mason, Harmar Lodge No. 390, Marietta American Legion and Marietta Shrine Club. Grant loved farming and raising Black Angus cattle and after retirement they moved from their home in Devola to the farm in the Layman/Bartlett area in 2007.

Grant is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Fenton of Williamstown, WV and Ann (John) Bonnette of Cutler, Ohio, five grandchildren, Meredith Fenton of Virginia, Natalie (Neil) Molter of Montana, Jessica (Matt) Parker of Florida, John Russell (Erica) of Cutler, Ohio and Tyson (Ashley) Bonnette of Little Hocking, Ohio. He also has eight great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.

Grant was preceded in death by his wife, Lena on June 16, 2021, brother, Dean and sisters, Ruth and Aletha.

Per Grant's wishes, there will be private graveside services only at Union Cemetery in Fairfield Twp, Washington County, Ohio. The Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Homes is handling arrangements.
