Faustena B. "Frosty" Haas, 76, of Vincent, died Saturday evening, April 7, 2012, at her home. Born February 5, 1936, in East McDowell, KY, she was a daughter of the late Barzell and Versa Moore Brown. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club. She also was a member of the Marietta Welfare League, having served as a chairwoman, the Williamstown Women's Club and had spent many hours volunteering for the Easter Seal Society. Frosty enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and many crafts. She also was an avid sports fan of The Ohio State University. On December 1, 1956, she married Edwin John "Jack" Haas, who survives with one son, David (Leslie) Haas, of Marietta, and daughter Reagan; and by six daughters, Debbie (Paul) Hoppe, of Washington, WV, and children Justin and Lindsey; Sharon Hutchinson, of Marietta, and children Natalie, Nicole, and Linette; Carol (Jeff) Armann, of Marietta, and children Jessica, Alexandra, Bryan and Callix; Nancy (Tom) Dodd, of Atlanta, GA, and daughter Olivia; Leigh (Scott) Groth, of Omaha, NE, and children Nicholas and Brendan, and Laura (Kevin) Stanney, of Worthington, and daughter Harper. Also surviving are three great grandchildren, Kyan, Lillianna and Aubree; two brothers, Gary and Jimmy; and two sisters, Eula Dean and Judy. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda, and by three brothers and one sister. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Monsignor John Michael Campbell as celebrant. Entombment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. A Vigil service will be held at 3:30 PM Monday, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Homes, where her family will be greeting friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Marietta Welfare League or to a charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kelli Cawley and the staff at Strecker Cancer Center.
