Francis Andrew "Junior" Arnold, 85, of Marietta, Ohio passed away on August 28, 2021, at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Junior was born on July 28, 1936 in Marietta, son of Francis J. and Elizabeth A. (Lang) Arnold. He attended Marietta High School class of 1954.He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He retired from B.F. Goodrich/RJF International after 41 years of service. He was a lifetime member of The Basilica of St Mary of the Assumption. Junior enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, working on small engines, spending time outdoors and watching football.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn S. (Flowers) Arnold; four children: David A. (Terri) Arnold, Daniel F. Arnold, Diane C. Henry (Mike) and Debra S. Tornes (Chris); seven grandchildren: Andrea Eichhorn (Adam), Adam Arnold (Brittany Wiley), Sara Richards (Dru Beck), Ryan Henry (Jesse Griffin) and Andrew, Alex and Aaron Tornes; four great grandchildren: Areana and William Eichhorn and Brayden and Ethan Richards; six step great grandchildren: Christopher, Blake, Isaac, Gaitlyn, Ryland and Arayan; brothers and sisters in law, Dale Gerken, James and Nancy Hinton and Steve and Linda Flowers; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his mother and father in law, James and Dorothy Flowers; his brother Bernard; brother and sister in law Donald and Mary Arnold; and sister, Norma Gerken.
Visitation will be on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a Vigil service at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with The Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell celebrating. Entombment will follow in East Lawn Mausoleum with full military honors.
