Frank Church, Jr.
Frank Church, Jr., 92, formerly of Lowell, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at The Arbors, at Marietta. He was born May 27, 1916 in Pennsboro, WV to Frank and Lettie Bee Church, Sr. Frank was a graduate of Williamstown High School and attended St. Louis School of Business for two years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from January, 1941 to December, 1945. Frank had lived in Colorado for 30 years and was employed as a chef, following his retirement in 1981, he moved to Lowell. He then continued working as a chef at the Evergreen Truck Stop and the BPO Elks Club in Marietta. He had been a member of the Knights of Pythias and the American Legion, Post #750, both in Lowell. Frank is survived by a sister, Juanita Holman of Parkersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews, and close friends, "Peach" and Bill & Kelly Morey. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Abiding with Frank's wishes, he was cremated. Memorial services will be held at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Lowell Post #750 will be conducting the military service. Donations may be made to L-A Fire & Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 406, Lowell, OH 45744. Burial of his ashes will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
