Frank Anthony Mccreery

Frank A. McCreery, 80, of Lowell, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Heartland of Marietta. He was born on June 17, 1931 at his Lowell (Cats Creek) home to John W. and Lena H. Alig McCreery. He was a 1949 graduate of Lowell High School. Frank served in the U. S. Air Force, was a Korean War veteran, and a 55 year member of the Lowell American Legion, Post #750. He retired from Fort Frye Local Schools. Frank is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Lou (Spence) McCreery, whom he married on February 14, 1952, one son, Frank A. McCreery, Jr. (Bridget) of New Matamoras, three daughters, Susan Johnson (Mike) of Marietta, Pam McCreery of Fleming, and Beth Elder (Tony) of St. Marys, WV, four grandchildren, Mikal Elder of La Luz, NM, Jenny Johnson of Columbia, MD, Will Johnson of Marietta, and Ashley McCreery of New Matamoras, family friend, Michelle Crum, and two sisters, Helen Jurden (Fred) of Newark and Alma Ginther (Ed) of Waterford. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Francis A. McCreery, two brothers, William J. "Bill" and John W. "Jack" McCreery, and three sisters, Margaret Devloo, Mary Hershberger, and Joanna Pitt. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Lowell. Memorial donations may be made to Marietta Home Health & Hospice, 210 N. Seventh St., Suite 400, Marietta, OH 45750. Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home is assisting the family with his arrangements.
