Frederick Arthur Wells, 68, of Marietta, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Cleveland Clinic. He was born January 26, 1943 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Paul Levi and Mary Ann Frizzell Wells. He was a graduate of Old Washington High School. Fred had been a resident of Marietta for over 25 years, and prior to that, had lived in the Cambridge and Old Washington areas. He was owner and operator of Eagle Fireworks, and through his business, had been associated with the American Pyrotechnic Association, the Ohio State Pyrotechnic Association, the Pyrotechnics Guild International and the National Fireworks Association. He was a member of the Old Washington Presbyterian Church, and numerous organizations and lodges, including BPO Elks Lodge #477, Moose Lodge #1823, Sons of American Legion #64, all in Marietta, Marietta Boat Club, and Marietta Country Club. He also had been active in many Masonic bodies, including Masonic Grand Lodge of F&AM #66, Cambridge, Knights Templar Cambridge Commandery #47, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Washington County Scottish Rite, Marietta Shrine Club, and Aladdin Shiners' International. Fred is survived by his life partner, Sandra Ashcraft, of Marietta, his daughter, Valerie Price (Robert) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, four grandsons, Gage, Cole, and Kane Price of Philadelphia, and Kyle Wells of Old Washington, a granddaughter, McKenzie Wells, of Old Washington, a brother, Henry Wells (Winifred), of Lore City and a sister, Judith Walberg (Erik), of San Jose, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Gregory. There will be visitation held at Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, 408 Front St., Marietta, on Tuesday, April 5th, from 5-8 pm, also at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, 120 North 11th. St., Cambridge on Wednesday, April 6th, from 5-8 pm, with Masonic services conducted at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the Bundy-Law Funeral Home, with burial in Old Washington Cemetery.
